ICELAND IN DECEMBER (MAP)

“Alenka, you’re flying to Iceland in 3 days. For your birthday.”

– And that’s how it all started. My brother and I spent one week exploring the Southwest and South Iceland – usually from dawn till complete darkness (the days were short). I didn’t mind the cold and even forgot to eat, because what I was experiencing was feeding my soul.

I collected all of the places we visited that week (50+) and created a “Google My Maps” to share my love for this land with you – it features everything from tourist attractions to some more or less secret spots and my favourite viewpoints – sometimes a small bridge can offer the most beautiful view… I’ve only included places I would visit (again), apart from a few places I haven’t had the chance to see yet, but have heard good things about.

*We rented a car for the whole time at Blue Car Rental

Curious about what we did each day?

HERE YOU CAN WATCH DAILY VLOGS from our entire Icelandic trip.

HAVE IN MIND THAT:
  • I’m more of an outdoor person than an indoor or city type

  • I enjoy everything related to the sea, ice, auroras, and volcanoes

  • I’m a biologist and a nature and travel photographer

Wishing you many precious moments in Iceland!

Let me know if you need help with planning your adventure in Iceland.

<3, Alenka

*This was my third time in Iceland, so planning the best spots to visit was much easier, even with the limited time and daylight we had. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like me to share a map of the places I visited in 2011 when we drove around and explored places all across Iceland.
